How do I get an L&Q home?

How to get an L&Q HomeIdeally we would like everyone to have an L&Q home if they wanted one, but we are unable to offer this.

As a major housing association we work very closely with a large number of local councils and specialist organisations. They refer future residents to L&Q.

It is best to register with your local council as early as possible if you need a home.

Visit Direct Gov to find out how to contact your local council.

Our social housing criteria

If you want an L&Q home you must:
  • be able to prove that you are in real housing need
  • be referred to us by your local council or one of our approved referral agencies:
  • or need supported housing.
If you are referred to us we will let you know about homes we have available that are suited to your needs. A member of staff will talk to you and help you complete an application form before an offer can be made.

Our rents, which are cheaper than homes rented privately, must be affordable to those on low incomes or with special needs.

Other ways to rent from L&Q

If you are not eligible for social housing from L&Q, you may still be able to rent or part-buy an affordable home from L&Q.

We have a range of affordable housing options, and you can find out more about these in our home sales section.
