Our future priorities

Our mission statement is 'creating places where people want to live'.

In spring 2015, we published a five-year corporate plan, L&Q 2020, which set out our ambitions for the next five years. In short, we aim to:

  • Continue to drive up service quality to rank among the best of our peers
  • Expand our development pipeline from 15,000 to 50,000 homes
  • Double our output, so that we are building 5,000 homes a year by 2020
  • Deliver efficiency and quality in our homes and services by rolling out our Direct Maintenance division and expanding Quadrant Construction
  • Continue to be self-reliant and guided by our social mission in achieving our aims

We have four strategic objectives, which are supported by 17 initiatives.

  • Improve our offer to different customer segments
  • Improve the reliability of L&Q homes and services
  • Develop greater customer insight
  • Ensure we are easy to do business with

Financial strength and growth maximising our capacity to invest in new and existing homes, services and communities for all our customers

  • Maximise capacity in order to deliver as many homes as possible
  • Retain the confidence of our investors and the regulator
  • Continue to value existing, and seek new, partnerships with stakeholders
  • Maximise the social benefit and value for money of our investment into communities

Business excellence delivering cost-effective and quality homes and services through efficiency and innovation

  • Improve operating efficiency and value for money
  • Make greater use of technology in our services and homes
  • Bring all homes up to L&Q property standard
  • Maintain the highest standards of transparency and accountability
  • Adopt best practice relating to sustainability and social responsibility

People and culture creating value for our customers by investing in our people to develop everyones full potential

  • Have the right people in place who live our corporate values and deliver our services to the highest possible standards
  • Create a culture of customer excellence, engagement and leadership where our people want to give their best
  • Ensure L&Q remains an attractive and competitive employer to work for
  • Create an environment in which talent can thrive and all our people have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge
