Construction careers advice in South East London
L&Q helped show over 450 fourteen and fifteen-year-olds from schools in Greenwich and Bexley the opportunities available in the world of construction in May 2008.
Over 30 construction businesses - from carpentry and plumbing to architecture and design – offered hands-on activities. The girls also got to see some positive female role models in what was traditionally a male-dominated industry.
L&Q worked with Greenwich Education Business Partnership, part of Greenwich Council, to put together the fourth Construction Careers in Action event.
Contractors and facilitators gave up their time, skills and resources for free.
