Summer success for Boxercise

The highly successful Boxercise programme, which took place in Waltham Forest, Redbridge and the Marks Gate Estate in Barking and Dagenham, has now come to an end.

Boxercise is a non-contact sport which teaches young people discipline and responsibility as well as helping alleviate aggression safely. Up to 40 young people attended each session which ran every day from 1-4pm.

Ciaran Porter Neighbourhood Investment Coordinator said "The sessions were absolutely brilliant, with lots of young people taking part. People have told me that it has really helped in reducing anti-social behaviour during the summer period."

Our North-East Neighbourhood Investment Team hope to extend the Boxercise programme in the future and is looking to form a partnership with Barking and Dagenham council.
