Group Board

L&Q's Group Board

The Group Board oversees all aspects of work carried out by the L&Q Group. The board is made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Meet the members:

Turlogh ObrienTurlogh O'Brien CBE, Hon FCIBSE, FRSA
Chairman of the Board of Governors
Turlogh works part time for a global design and business consulting firm. He has a background in research and development issues and was made a CBE in 1999 for services to research and innovation in construction. Turlogh is continuing his research interests and will be looking in particular at ways of improving energy efficiency of existing housing stock.

Irene AddisIrene Addis FGA, RJDIP
Irene has been a resident of L&Q since 1981 and a member of the South West Thames regional committee since September 1998. She is Vice Chair of school governors and a trustee of a cancer drop-in centre. She became L&Q’s second resident board member in September 1999 and joined Quadrant Community Investment (QCI) committee in 2002.

Ainsley ForbesAinsley Forbes BSc Hons
Ainsley is a property developer with many years experience as Assistant Director of Social Services with a local authority. He has been with L&Q since 1990.

Claire MartinClaire Martin MA, MSc, Fellow CIH, PGDSM

Claire Joined L&Q's Governing Board on 31 March 2005. Claire is Head of Supporting People at Kent County Council and has an MSC in Housing, is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Management

Robert Cooper2Robert Cooper FCA
Honorary Treasurer of L&Q and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee and Quadrant Housing Finance.
The majority of Robert’s career has been spent working as an investment banker. He has also spent a number of years working in industry as finance director. He was appointed to the Governing Board in 2006.

Diane PhillipsDiane Phillips BA, CB
Chairman of L&Q’s Project Appraisal Committee
Diane is a retired senior civil servant at the Department of Transport. She is a governor of St George’s College, Weybridge. She joined L&Q in 1998 as a member of L&Q’s South West Thames regional committee and has served on the board since 1999.

Michael RichardsonMichael Richardson CB, MA
Deputy Chairman of L&Q
Michael is a senior civil servant in the Department for Work and Pensions. He has worked with L&Q since 1991 and was appointed Deputy Chairman in 2000. Michael is Chairman of L&Q’s Pension Trustees and IS strategy panel.

Brian Caroll Brian Caroll BA
Brian has now retired as Finance Director for the John Lewis Partnership PLC and is a Board member of the Shaftesbury Housing Association. Brian chaired the Research and Appraisal Forum for the new Waitrose supermarket sites. In addition he worked at H.M. Treasury from 1966 – 1978 serving as Private Secretary to the Treasury Ministers of State from both Labour and Conservative Administrations.

Cecily DavisCecily Davis BA, LLM, MSc
Cecily Davis is a partner in the London office on an international law firm. She specialises in construction and engineering projects in the UK and overseas.

She serves as a member of L&Q's audit and risk committee and the newly formed Ujima Foundation. Cecily is also a board member of the newly formed Gateway Housing Association and also serves on the Audit and Risk committee of that organisation.

Frank Chersky Frank Chersky BA
Frank currently works for Haringey Teaching Primary Care Trust and was previously employed as an Assistant Head of a Residential Home for the elderly and as a Finance Officer in Local Government. Frank was Chair of Green Horizons Community Board from 1999 to 2003 and was a member of L&Q’s North Thames Regional Committee from 2001 and QCI Committee from 2002. Frank is a qualified Paralegal and is also a resident of L&Q.

Ron Goodman 1Ron Goodman MCIOB
For the past 20 of his 33 years at the Croudace Homes Group Ltd Ron has been a Director, covering most of the residential development disciplines in order to deliver some 800 new homes to the market each year. His background is surveying and construction but for the past 11 years his principle focus has been the director responsible for land, and in addition over the last 4 years was Managing Director responsible for setting up and managing Croudace Homes in Partnership Ltd, the company in the group which built specifically affordable homes for Housing Associations and now delivers in excess of 200 homes a year He joined the Board of Tower Homes in 2000, is a past chair of Zest and moved to the L&Q Board late in 2007.
